Bessie Cooke Givens has served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Center for Child and Family Health, Inc since 2009. She has been a financial staff member in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine since 2001.

Bessie has more than 30 years of experience in accounting/financial management, grant management, and human resources administration, to include expertise in strategic planning, financial reporting, cash flow management and budgeting, forecasting and economic evaluation of operations to strengthen financial performance.

She has accomplished successes in adhering to compliance processes and procedures at the federal, state and local government levels, extensive operational knowledge in private, public and nonprofit sectors. Bessie received her Masters Degree in Public Administration from North Carolina Central University.
