Donna B. Newberne, LCMHCS, is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor, Mental Health Clinic Director, and NC CTP Faculty at the Center for Child and Family Health. She has clinical experience working with traumatized children and families since 2003 and has also provided clinical supervision since 2010. Donna is trained in the ARC, PCIT, TF-CBT, and TGCT-A models, and she offers direct clinical services in an outpatient trauma specialty clinic. She also provides clinical and administrative oversight for a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals and interns. Donna is a Master Trainer for Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS) and a National Trainer for Components for Enhancing Clinician Experience and Reducing Trauma (CE-CERT).
Donna has trained hundreds of mental health professions to deliver evidence based treatments in North Carolina and beyond. Her passions include working with adolescents to assist them in learning more effective ways of coping, problem-solving and communicating, advancing the art and science of clinical supervision, and inspiring future generations of mental health professionals through teaching and training opportunities. Donna finds her roles as clinician, administrator, trainer, mentor, and advocate highly rewarding. In her time away from work, Donna enjoys reading thought-provoking books, cooking, entertaining her friends, spending time with her husband, children and dog, passing sunny days by the ocean, and glamping by RV.
