Kelly Sullivan, PhD, is a Licensed Psychologist and an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Duke University Medical Center, and has also worked at the Center for Child & Family Health (CCFH) since 2006. Dr. Sullivan serves as the Director of Mental Health Services at CCFH; directs CCFH’s National Child Traumatic Stress Network project, which focuses on treating children and their caregivers exposed to trauma; and also co-directs a trauma-informed schools project. In addition to having completed training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dr. Sullivan is also a Level II PCIT trainer, and is currently a Trainer in Training for NC CTP’s Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) program. Dr. Sullivan facilitates the Caring for Children Who Have Experienced Trauma workshop for foster, kinship, and adoptive caregivers, and trains facilitators of this curriculum. She has also worked with Project Broadcast, an initiative to bring trauma-informed practices to NC’s child welfare system, since it began in 2011. In all her professional pursuits, Dr. Sullivan is dedicated to supporting individuals and organizations to be more trauma informed.
